Venom – Wide-Gliding Jerkbait for Pike
Venom is a lipless glider-style jerkbait designed for pike fishing. During the retrieve, it makes clear side-to-side movements that imitate a weakened, injured or escaping prey fish. Its action is easy to control with rod taps or simply by using the reel or baitcaster handle.
Venom is one of the most proven Jurassic Lures models. It is the lure for which we receive the highest number of pike catch photos and reports from anglers fishing in different parts of the world.
Wide glides and effective pauses
Venom responds well to short taps, calm rod-tip movements and reel-only retrieves. Changes of speed allow you to move from slow, wide glides to a faster and more aggressive action.
During a pause, the lure sinks through the water while remaining clearly visible to a following pike. The interruption in movement often creates the right moment for a fish to strike.
The slow-sinking versions can be worked above vegetation, in shallow bays and in other places where depth control is important. The heavier sinking model allows you to reach deeper water and target larger pike.
Natural, fluorescent and high-contrast colours
Venom is available in a wide selection of colour patterns. The range includes natural prey-fish designs for clear water and cautious pike, as well as strong fluorescent and high-contrast colours for stained water, overcast weather and low-light conditions.
The varied colour range makes it easier to match the lure to water clarity, light levels and the feeding behaviour of the fish.
Three Venom sizes
Venom is available in three sizes with different weights and sink rates:
Venom 12 cm – 37 g, slow sinking, BKK size 1 treble hooks
Venom 15 cm – 80 g, slow sinking, BKK 1/0 treble hooks
Venom 20 cm – 170 g, sinking, BKK 3/0 treble hooks
The 12 cm Venom is the lightest and most versatile option. It is suitable for shallower water and lighter baitcasting or spinning tackle.
The 15 cm version creates a larger profile while retaining a slow sink rate. It is a strong all-round choice for targeting medium and large pike.
Venom 20 cm is designed for heavy tackle and large-pike fishing. Its higher weight and sinking action allow it to reach deeper fish and create a substantial presentation in the water.
Choose the size, colour and retrieve speed according to the fishing depth and activity of the pike. Venom can be worked slowly in front of cautious fish or aggressively when pike are actively hunting.

The Venom is a lipless glider-style jerkbait designed for pike fishing. During the retrieve it makes pronounced side-to-side glides, and its action can be controlled with the rod, reel or baitcasting reel.
The Venom moves from side to side, producing the wide glides typical of this lure type. The range and dynamics of its movement depend on the strength of the twitches, the retrieve speed and the length of the pauses.
The 12 cm and 15 cm Venom models are slow sinking. The largest 20 cm Venom is sinking, allowing deeper parts of the venue to be fished more effectively.
The Venom is available in three versions: 12 cm and 37 g with BKK size 1 treble hooks, 15 cm and 80 g with BKK size 1/0 treble hooks, and 20 cm and 170 g with BKK size 3/0 treble hooks.
The 12 cm Venom works well in shallower water and when pike prefer a smaller lure profile. The 15 cm version is the most versatile. The sinking 20 cm Venom is intended for powerful tackle, deeper water and targeting large pike. Always check the maximum casting weight of your rod before choosing.
The Venom can be worked with short rod movements or with a reel or baitcasting reel. A good method is to combine twitches, changes in retrieve speed and pauses during which the lure begins to sink.
Yes. The Venom can produce its action when retrieved with a reel or baitcasting reel alone. Changes in retrieve speed, short accelerations and stops help create an irregular movement.
Yes. During a pause the Venom begins to sink, giving a following pike time to strike. In cold water, retrieve it more slowly and use longer pauses. When the fish are active, increase the speed and shorten the pauses.
Yes. The Venom responds to rod twitches, but it can also be retrieved with a reel or baitcasting reel alone. This makes it easier to learn how to control a glider step by step.
In clear water, natural patterns matching the prey fish in the venue are a good starting point. In murky water, low light or poor visibility, try contrasting and fluorescent colours.
Yes. The Venom is one of the most frequently chosen Jurassic Lures models. It is also the lure for which we receive the most catch reports and photos of pike from anglers fishing in many countries.
Yes. When fishing for pike, use a leader that cannot be cut by the fish’s teeth. Its breaking strength should be matched to the weight of the selected Venom and the other components of the tackle.
